Comfort Over Style

-

Style this, style that and on and on, how about just prioritizing comfort and confidence, for the occasion. Style should  never come before comfort, this however does not mean one shouldn't colour outside the lines of their comfort zones when coming up with an outfit that further expresses  your taste level and eye for great parings of items.

Will I be comfortable the entire duration of drinks with mates wearing this ? Sure, “it should be the perfect fit”, “pay attention to the cut”, “bespoke, BESPOKE”, “get it tailored”, these are a few of the common phrases in men’s style, but honestly will my gut in this slim-cut, button up not find itself at a poverty for space when on a dinner date ?  Now you are uncomfortable thus aren't fully engaging in the conversation, might as well call for the bill and head on out as there goes the confidence, which in most cases, means, goodbye to your charm and following the trail to the exit, is your charisma. The state of discomfort caused by what you are wearing is not the easiest to brush off or hide from those in your company.

Its no secret that mood, character, emotion, aspiration and individuality are what we express, with intent or unintentionally so, though our choice of outfit for the day. When out taking care of the day's needs, at work, the gym, restaurant or doing a grocery run what we wear has  great impact on mood and confidence,  take note of when you are in your best of mood and also what your outfit choice is while in this pleasant state, you should notice that your outfit is one you find comfortable in various aspects such as it fitting correctly, complementing your body type and not getting in the way of anything. Can you reach for the salad bowl being passed over to you? Is sitting down frighteningly uncomfortable  because you are realizing while in motion that your tailor may have brought your trousers in way more than required? We've all at some point found ourselves in some compromising situations due to imagining an outfit would work only to experience great disappointment and discomfort. The reality in some cases is, it may look good but not actually feel good for you. Comfort over style...
